DR-CAFTA spurs Dominican economy
Dominican Republic economy minister Temístocles Montás said that the DR-CAFTA trade deal will impact economic growth positively and lower poverty in the Dominican Republic, but advised that the country will have to continue implementing structural reforms. Montás said DR-CAFTA will raise Dominican exports by an average 3.8 percent in the next eight years. Speaking at the conference "DR-CAFTA and the Future of the Dominican Economy," Montas said DR-CAFTA had generated a favorable effect by increasing yield of the investment and the scale of the investments. www.floridashipper.com
